Style Sheet - Sunshine Love

Happy Wednesday everybody. I just find it crazy how fast time is flying by at the moment - I mean can you beleieve how close it is now till Christmas?! I'm determined to make the most of every minute here in the lead up to Christmas with loads of new exciting things on the horizon for Red Creative.

This morning I though I'd share this little number with you - I was inspired by all the gorgous colours showing up in fashion at the moment. Paired with a dove grey it's actually quite sophisticated don't you think?

How to pull off this look? I think the key is to use your punchy colours with restraint but don't shy away from them altogether. Combine with some more rustic elements for a paired back look or lots of white for a more contemporary spin. The charcoal silk pintuck cloths from Insphire would be perfect for this combined with various white ceramic or cut glass pieces overflowing with your favourite coloured blooms. And of course don't forget a candy bar! 

Wedding Signage

When it comes to weddings we're all about making sure your guests have the most enjoyable time possible and that they feel as though you've taken care of every detail because you care about them.

One of the easiest ways to acheive this is through the use of signage. Wedding day signage is so important and often gets overlooked. The reality is couples often spend hours and hours thinking of little details that get missed on the day because no-one communicated the information to the guests. Oh, we were meant to take one of those home? You wanted us to write on that? The candy bar wasn't meant to be open untill after cake cutting? WHOOPS!!

At Red Creative we make sure that we talk our clients through the signage that might be required for the day from direction signs, to menus, it's important that you cover all of your bases and that the signage you choose compliments your overall style scheme.

For the DIYers out there you can have signage printed at the same time as your stationery to ensure a consistent look, hire pre-printed signage or alternatively look at hiring a beautiful blackboard or mirror and signwrite it. For hire items check out Centrepiece's great range.

Style Sheet - Blossom & Babies Breath

Whew - what a weekend!! We had the pleasure of woring with two lovely brides to style their weddings this weekend and now we're in need of a bit of a break but with two corporate functions this week and loads of stationery and favours to get out it's full steam ahead!

While we're waiting on pics from the last few functions I thought I'd share a little pretty. Sadly the blossom is coming to an end but save this one up for next year. 

A pretty mix of smokey pastels. Combine soft white drapes and floaty overlays with garlands of babies breath and towering cherry blossom in white porcelain containers. *sigh*

Timeless Elegance - Claudia & Tom

Although many of our clients come to us looking for a look that is cutting edge, sometimes we have the pleasure of creating something a bit more timeless. To be fair, it's pretty nice knowing that you will look back on your big day without the slightest cringe factor :)

Claudia & Tom celebrated thier marriage at the Auckland Hebrew Congregation earlier this year. I knew after meeting Claudia and seeing the space that beautiful soft white floral and deep elegant green foliage would be perfect. We started with the bride's bouquet. We wanted the look to be soft and feminine and definately all white so we combined white roses, peiris and gorgeous sweet pea in a hand tied posy.

The centerpiece of the whole space was the wedding Chuppah. We took the temples exsisting Chuppah and softened it with huge garlands of greenery, lilies, white roses, sweet pea, peiris and rununculas. And the result was perfect - a grand and elegant statement.

Karyn & Chris - Belsaas Estate

Happy Wednesday everyone. I hope you are having a great week so far. We've been keeping busy with lots of RWC functions as well as working with our lovely brides for the upcoming wedding season. We've still got a few spots left so if you're dreaming of a beautifu and unique wedding day give us a call.

I have something pretty for you today - a wedding that we did a while back out at Belsaas Estate. We started with garden gorgeous save the dates - a faux rosebud and "love is blooming swing tag" followed by invitations, complete with faux garden rose and feathers.

Floral in pretty garden tones really made this look. Against the clean white linens these just looked fresh and beautiful.

Style Sheet - Granny Smith & Rose

Yesterday I had the pleasure of visiting a very special place - via helicopter! More to come on that shortly when I've uploaded the pics but the day was beautiful and really felt like spring was on the way. Today's style sheet just has a nice fresh, slightly preppy feel about it that totally suits a spring wedding don't you think?

On that note we're working with some amazing couples at the moment for spring weddings this year but we do have a couple of gaps left so if you're thinking you may just need someone to help you create the look and feel for your big day please do give us a bell.

Style Sheet -Blackberry Cassis

Morning All,

Had a terrible nights sleep last night so I felt like I needed to start the day out right. For me this style sheet is the perfect amount of pretty without being a big pink bonanza. It's a little rustic but still clean.

How to create the look? First you need a nice clean base - white linen, white chairs, perhaps a white lined marquee. Add a soft lavender or powder blue through an overlay or napkins and accent with twine. Floral should be super soft and textured - think hydrangea, sweet peas, peonies & garden roses, mix in some fresh berries still with a little green.

Add blackboards, oooh and maybe a rustic cheese and fruit station all displayed on beautiful wooden boards with little blackboard signs. . .

Purple seems to be really popular at the moment for next season's weddings - are you a purple fan?

Sunset Soiree

When it's all rainy and cold and yuck I always like to make the house feel a little bit cosier and inviting. We're staying with my mother in law while we wait to move into the new house (and new showroom!!!!!) and this weekend I raided her garden for a couple of little posies in this colour-scheme and I'm just loving it. Toasty oranges and deep berry red combined with some dark wood tones and fresh leaf green. Nice for all sorts of events and definitely not just for Autumn. 

How to whip up your own Sunset Soiree? Maybe be bold enough to wear that A M A Z I N G orange dress? Definitely combine Villa Kula's furniture with rustic elements like barrels, crates, tree stumps etc. Use the natural fibre linen from Insphire. Source yourself some organic floral & fruit & veg to soften things up and display in old brass or cut glass from Centrepiece. Or have us do it all for you :) Easy and perfectly customised just for you.

Matt & Shannon - Lakes Resort

Some clients just stick in your mind forever. When Red Creative was still in it's infancy, I was trying to build a portfolio and work was difficult to find as many people didn't yet understand the concept behind what we were trying to do. I still remember the call I got from Matt and how he described what they were looking for. For me I was so excited because it felt like they were one of the few who really got what it was I was trying to do. Not just that but they trusted my vision and my talent.

We had such fun pulling together the elements of their day from floral through to stationery. They had a distinct sense of style - relaxed, vibrant, stylish with a real New Zealand flavour.

  

Some things have changed an awful lot since then. We now have a huge portfolio and loads of experience but we still rely on clients who understand what it is we do here at Red Creative, who appreciate our art and who know what it can bring to their big day.
